The UConn Huskies look for a statement win after beating Holy Cross in their opener, 27-20. The UConn Huskies have lost four of their last six home games. David Pindell is completing 67.9 percent of his passes for 154 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Pindell and Bryant Shirreffs have combined for one touchdown pass this season. The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 9-3 ATS in their last 12 conference games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games in September. The Huskies are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games and 16-40-2 ATS in their last 58 games overall. The Bulls are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings, road team is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
The USF Bulls will already be playing their third game of the year and their second road game, so it's going to be interesting to see how they handle the quick workload. Regardless, the Bulls haven't been that impressive in their first two games, and they're coming off a contest in which Stony Brook hung around for three quarters. UConn had its struggles as well against Holy Cross, but the defense remains sharp and the offense improved big time once Shirreffs took over at QB. Past meetings between these two teams have been tight, and the Huskies have the defense to grind out another close one even if they're on the losing side. I like the value of the points in this game.
