The Alabama A&M Bulldogs will look to pull off the upset when they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium on Saturday afternoon in week 2 college football action.
The Alabama A&M Bulldogs will look to bounce back after a poor showing in their season opener, a 38-7 defeat at the hands of UAB. Aqeel Glass completed just 7 of his 17 pass attempts for 101 yards, a touchdown and an interception. AAMU’s run game also struggled, combining for just 45 rushing yards on 33 attempts in the loss. Roderick Randolph led the team with 58 receiving yards and the team’s lone touchdown with his pair of receptions, while Marceles Clash tied for the team-high with 3 receptions. It was a tough outing for the Bulldogs defensively, allowing 424 yards of total offense along with the 37 points. On the plus side, the Bulldogs were able to force a fumble and also recover it. The true test here will be to see if the Bulldogs can step it up and take it on the road when they face Vandy.

The Vanderbilt Commodores will look to add to their strong performance in the season opener, a 28-6 victory over Middle Tennessee. Kyle Shurmur led Vandy with 296 passing yards and 3 touchdowns on 20 of 28 passing. Ralph Webb saw the bulk of the workload out of Vandy’s backfield, taking his 24 carries and spinning it into 54 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the team with 104 receiving yards and a touchdown out of the backfield. Trent Sherfield caught a team-high 4 passes for 68 yards while Kalija Lipscomb ended up on the receiving end of a pair of Shurmur’s touchdowns as his lone two grabs in the win. Vanderbilt had a strong showing in the win, holding Middle Tennessee to just 215 yards of total offense while forcing a fumble and recording an interception of Blue Raiders’ QB Brent Stockstill.
Alabama A&M is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Vanderbilt is 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.
Vanderbilt is a big step up from a UAB program that demolished Alabama A&M in their first game back in the football program after a three year absence. I’m pretty sure this is a game that the Commodores will run away with, so I'll lay the points with the Commodores as this one is well over by halftime.
