The Colgate Red Raiders go on the road to take the field with the Buffalo Bulls in an FCS vs. FBS college football matchup.
The #25 Colgate Red Raiders look to get back in the win column when they visit the FBS Buffalo Bulls in week three. The Red Raiders narrowly missed out on a 2-0 start with a 20-17 defeat at the hands of the visiting Richmond Spiders. The Red Raiders defense was the star of the game with a mere 368 yards given up but the Spiders came up big in the 4th quarter with a 13-3 run to pull out the win with a 27 yard field goal being the difference with just under 1 ½ minutes remaining. The Colgate offense leaned on the arm and legs of quarterback Grant Breneman who connected on 10-21 throws for 99 yards with a touchdown and interception while also leading the team on the ground with 67 yards on 15 carries. James Holland, Malik Twyman and Alex Mathews combined for another 122 rushing yards while Owen Rockett paced the Red Raiders receivers with 48 yards on four receptions.

The Buffalo Bulls enter week three still searching for their first win when the Colgate Red Raiders come to town on Saturday. The Bulls fell to 0-2 on the year with the offense coming up empty in the second half of a 21-17 loss at the Army Black Knights. For the second straight week, UB faced a great running team and kept the scoreboard competitive despite no help offensively. Buffalo was outgained 339-312 but kept Army to just under five yards per carry on 66 attempts. Bulls quarterback Tyree Jackson displayed potential as he connected on 9-16 for 193 yards and a touchdown while leading the rushing attack with a 75 yard scoring burst for another score. Jonathan Hawkins added 41 yards on nine carries while the Bulls saw Antonio Nunn haul in a 48 yard scoring strike with Anthony Johnson snagging three balls for 82 yards including a 52 yarder. Buffalo did have a few big plays but were held in check by the Black Knights defense for the most part which made a pair of lost fumbles stand out.
Colgate are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game. The under is 5-0 in Buffalo last 5 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and the under is 4-0 in Buffalo last 4 games overall while the under is 8-0 in Buffalo last 8 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
Buffalo needs a win plain and simple as an 0-3 hole likely will end their Bowl hopes. I believe the Bulls win but I won’t give away over a touchdown…
