The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats shoot for the road upset of the Florida Atlantic Owls in week three college football.

The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats are looking for a 2-1 beginning to the season when the team travels to Florida Atlantic to oppose the Owls. The Wildcats evened their record at 1-1 with a 28-23 victory at the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. Bethune held the Lions offense in check for the majority of the game, especially in the first half when SELU was forced in to three field goals on drives that fizzled inside the 20.  The BC special teams allowed a costly 92 yard kickoff return in the 4th although the offense engineered an eleven play, 72 yard TD drive to secure the win. Quarterback Larry Brihm Jr.  paced the Bethune-Cookman offense with 354 passing yards with two touchdowns while Jawill Davis and Keavon Mitchell led the receiving corps with 13 receptions for 263 yards. Michael Jones gave the Wildcats some punch on the ground with 96 yards and a touchdown and averaged 5.6 yards per touch.

Florida Atlantic vs. Bethune-Cookman - 9/16/17 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Florida Atlantic Owls need a shift in momentum when the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats come to town in week three. The Owls faced a tough Wisconsin  squad on the road in week two and were saddled with a 31-14 defeat as a 34.5 point underdog. The Owls were humbled 550-253 in the yardage department but somehow kept the Badgers to a lone second half touchdown in a game that was loosely competitive on the scoreboard. FAU were in need of a grind it out, milk the clock rushing attack but Devin Singletary was the only runner of note with 17 carries producing 68 yards and a one yard scoring plunge. Florida Atlantic also struggled to stretch the field via the pass with quarterback Daniel Parr completing 9-19 for 142 yards and a score. DeAndre McNeal gave Florida Atlantic three receptions for 103 yards including a 63 yard touchdown but the offense generally struggled as witnessed by their eleven punts and nine first downs.

Bethune-Cookman are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and Bethune-Cookman are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall while Bethune-Cookman are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games. Florida Atlantic are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win and Florida Atlantic are 2-14-1 ATS in their last 17 games on grass while Florida Atlantic are 2-13-1 ATS in their last 16 home games.

Florida Atlantic simply can’t absorb a loss here and need some confidence going forward. I believe the Owls have the horses on both sides of the ball to cover…
