The #24 Florida Gators will have had an extra week to prepare after having their week 2 matchup with Northern Colorado cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. After their week one loss to Michigan, Malik Zaire leads the Gatoris with 106 yards passing while completing 52.9% of his passes. Mark Thompson leads the Gators backfield with 13 yards while averaging 2.6 yards per carry. Josh Hammond leads Florida with 71 yards receiving and 23.7 yards per catch, while Tyrie Cleveland leads the way with 4 receptions. Jordan Sherit leads the Gators defense with a pair of sacks while Duke Dawson and CJ Henderson each have an interception which was returned for a touchdown for Florida.
Tennessee is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 conference matchups and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games following a win. Florida is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record. The road team is 6-2-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.
I know Florida has had an extra week to rest and prepare for this game, but their performance against Michigan was far from inspiring and the Gators could’ve really used that tune-up game against Northern Colorado to work out the kinks. Tennessee isn’t a team you want to sleep on as they get after it defensively and can light up the scoreboard with the best of them. I’m siding with Tennessee and the points in a game the Vols’ have a good shot at winning outright.
