The Ohio Bobcats get a visit from the Kansas Jayhawks in week three college football on Saturday.
The Kansas Jayhawks play their second straight MAC opponent when they travel to the Ohio Bobcats Saturday. The Jayhwks need a bounce back victory after dropping a 45-27 decision to the visiting Central Michigan Chippewas in week two to fall to 1-1 after two games. KU was outgained 590-470 and turned the ball over twice while having extreme struggles in their secondary with the Chippewas throwing for 467 yards and five touchdowns. The Jayhawks did plenty of damage through the air with quarterback Peyton Bender connecting on 32-63 for 323 yards although no touchdowns and a pair of interceptions took the luster away from solid production. Quan Hampton and Ryan Schradler paced the receiving corps with six receptions apiece for a combined 127 yards while Dom Williams led the rushing attack with 64 yards on 18 touches with one and two yard TD’s.

The Ohio Bobcats entertain the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday in a MAC versus Big 12 matchup. The Bobcats did not fare well in week two as they were dominated 44-21 by the Purdue Boilermakers as a three point road underdog. Ohio was outgained 558-396 and turned the ball over twice but really had no answers during Purdue’s 24-0 second quarter burst that was the difference in this game. The Bobcats rushing attack was nothing more then four yards and a cloud of dust with AJ Ouellette and Julian Ross combining for 93 yards on 20 carries with each scoring on short runs. Nathan Rourke engineered a short passing attack on a 13-15 performance for 191 yards and a touchdown but the Bobcats needed more from Quinton Maxwell who connected on a disappointing 4-13 before being replaced. Papi White paced the Ohio receiving corps with six receptions for 98 yards while Cameron Odom caught a 25 yard scoring strike in the 4th quarter.
Kansas are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and the over is 6-1 in Kansas last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game while the over is 6-1 in Kansas last 7 games on fieldturf. Ohio are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game and Ohio are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss of more than 20 points while the under is 6-1 in Ohio last 7 home games.
The Jayhawks again look like nothing special once again and being an underdog to a MAC squad says as much. Having said that I’m having a difficult time laying the points so I’ll take them…
