The Tennessee Volunteers look for a statement victory to build on their 2-0 start to the CFB season. The Tennessee Volunteers have lost three straight road games. Quinten Dormady is completing 60 percent of his passes for 415 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Dormady has four touchdown passes on his last 72 pass attempts. The Florida Gators look for their first win of the season after their game against Northern Colorado was canceled. The Florida Gators have won 10 of their last 11 home games. Malik Zaire is completing 52.9 percent of his passes for 106 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. Zaire and Feleipe Franks have combined for 181 passing yards this season. Josh Hammond and Tyrie Cleveland have combined for 127 receiving yards on seven catches while Kadarius Toney has two receptions. The Florida Gators ground game is averaging 11 yards per contest, and Mark Thompson leads the way with 13 yards on five carries. Defensively, Florida is allowing 33 points and 433 yards per game. David Reese leads the Florida Gators with 11 tackles, Jordan Sherit has two sacks and Duke Dawson has one interception.
The Volunteers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in September and 3-7 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Gators are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games following a bye week, 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games on grass. The Volunteers are 6-13-2 ATS in their last 21 meetings, the underdog is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.
Florida still has issues on the offensive end, which has kept this program from returning to that elite status, and those issues aren't going to be helped with Antonio Callaway and others still suspended. However, Florida has had an extra week to prepare for this game and is a far more successful team at home. The history between Florida and Tennessee is also well documented, and well, the Vols have little to no success over the last decade despite winning last years contest. I haven't been that impressed with the Volunteers so far this season and the extra week should help the Gators. Look for Florida to win this game by a touchdown.
