Terrence Upshaw led the Mountaineers on the ground with 86 yards on ten totes including a 50 yard scoring burst.

The Texas State Bobcats host the Appalachian Mountaineers in the Sun Belt opener for both squads in week three. The Bobcats played as strong a game as possible in falling on the road to Colorado 37-3 as a 35 point underdog in week two. Texas State allowed 430 yards with 300 yards coming through the air while totaling 283 yards and losing the turnover battle 2-0.
