The Washington State Cougars look for a statement victory to also get off to a 5-0 start. The Washington State Cougars have won nine of their last 10 home games. Luke Falk is completing 76.9 percent of his passes for 1,378 yards, 14 touchdowns and one interception. Falk has three or more touchdown passes in eight of his last 11 games. The Trojans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Cougars are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Friday games, 13-6 ATS in their last 19 conference games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Trojans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Washington State, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings and the favorite is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings.
USC is the more battle tested team with wins over Texas, Stanford and Cal, while Washington State's best win so far was against a subpar Boise State team, and all of the Cougars games this season have been at home. However, I can't think of a bigger game for Washington State, as this is a chance to really prove this program is for real, so you know the players will be jacked up and the crowd will be out in full force. I'm also really concerned with Darnold and those turnovers, as they're going to catch up to him at some point. WSU can put up points early and often, and any extra possessions for the home team could result in the Trojans first loss of the season. I'll take the points here.
