The Kentucky Wildcats will also look to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season, a heartbreaking 28-27 loss to #20 Florida, making it 31 consecutive straight up losses for the Wildcats against the Gators. The loss sent Kentucky to 3-1 overall this season and 0-1 in SEC conference play. Stephen Johnson threw for 196 yards and 3 touchdowns on 17 of 25 passing, while Sihiem King led Kentucky’s ground attack with 64 yards on 5 carries and Benny Snell Jr. racked up 59 yards on 14 touches out of the backfield. Defensively, a Josh Allen sack and a Darius West interception were the main highlights in a decent performance from Kentucky’s defense, allowing 395 yards of total offense, with the time of possession battle ending up 5 seconds away from being dead even.
Eastern Michigan is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against the SEC and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while the under is 12-2 in their last 14 games overall. Kentucky is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games against the MAC while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.
Eastern Michigan has played well out of conference but Kentucky will easily be the most balanced team they’ve played, as I don’t personally think too highly of Rutgers and Charlotte, and the SEC has been the Eagles’ kryptonite against the spread. Kentucky has to be heartbroken after falling just short of snapping that lengthy losing skid against the Gators, and they haven’t done well against the number, but they’ve dominated against the MAC, and since I think this will be a big bounce back game for the Wildcats, I’ll go ahead and back Kentucky here
