The Notre Dame Fighting Irish brace for a visit from the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks in week five college football.
The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks face a tough task in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a week five road trip. The Redhawks finally showed their potential in a week four 31-14 victory at the Central Michigan Chippewas where the team rode some early scoring. Miami didn’t rack up the big yards with a 394-345 edge but the offense scored when the opportunity presented itself and the defensive side of the football intercepted a pair of passes and returned one 47 yards. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish look to continue their hot start when the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks come to town on Saturday. The Fighting Irish improved to 3-1 with a one sided 38-18 victory at the Michigan State Spartans where the team came up short in yards 496-355 but won the all important turnover battle 3-0. Despite the big score, Notre Dame did not do anything out of the ordinary on the offensive side of the football except take advantage of Michigan State mistakes. Quarterback Brandon Wimbush gave Notre Dame a solid day under center with 173 yards on 14-20 with a touchdown while totaling 52 yards on the ground with a score. Josh Adams led the Irish on the ground with 56 yard on nine touches while Dexter Williams ran for 40 yards and a TD and caught a short scoring pass. Equanimeous St. Brown and Chase Claypool led Notre Dame with four catches each for a combined 117 yards. Julian Love led the Fighting Irish defense with a 59 yard pick six for a 14-0 lead.
The under is 4-0 in Miami (Ohio) last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and the under is 6-1 in Miami (Ohio) last 7 games in September while the under is 6-1 in Miami (Ohio) last 7 non-conference games. Notre Dame are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win and the over is 5-1 in Notre Dame last 6 games on fieldturf while Notre Dame are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win.
Right now I’ll side with Notre Dame because I think the Redhawks will have some issues moving the chains. The key will be whether Ragland can pass under what will be a big pass rush…
