The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns will travel to Kibbie Dome to take on the Idaho Vandals this Saturday night in College Football action.

The Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 1-3 (0-1 Sun Belt) on the season after being defeated by the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks, 56-50 in 2OT, this past Saturday. Louisiana Lafayette fought back from a 43-22 deficit in the 4th quarter to force OT however, couldn’t secure the comeback victory in OT. Leading the way for Louisiana Lafayette was QB Andre Nunez who completed 22 of 37 passes for 287 yards and 2 TD while also rushing for a TD. On the season, Louisiana Lafayette is averaging 41.0 ppg on 448.5 total yards per game (245.5 passing yds/g, 203.0 rushing yds/g). Offensively, the Ragin’ Cajuns have been led by the backfield duo of Tray Ragas (11.5 att/g, 93.8 yds/g, 4 TD) and Elijah Mitchell (9.3 att/g, 60.8 yds/g, 4 TD). QB Jordan Davis (59.6 comp %, 5 TD, 4 INT 169.0 yds/g) missed last game due to injury and questionable for Saturday’s matchup, however, Andre Nunez did have a nice game filling in for Davis against Louisiana Monroe. WR Keenan Barnes (6.3 rec/g, 82.3 yds/g, TD) and Ryheem Malone (4.3 rec/g, 49.0 yds/g, 2 TD) are the leading receivers for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Defensively, Louisiana Lafayette is allowing their opponents to average 53.8 ppg on 563.5 total yards per game (264.5 passing yds/g, 299.0 rushing yds/g). Louisiana Lafayette has committed 7 turnovers on the season and has an overall turnover margin of -2.

Idaho vs. Louisiana-Lafayette - 10/7/17 College Football Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Idaho Vandals snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 2-2 (1-0 Sun Belt) on the season after defeating the South Alabama Jaguars, 29-23 in 2OT, on September 23rd. In a game that had multiple weather delays, the Vandals forced OT with a TD with just 13 seconds left in regulation and outlasted the Jaguars to secure the come from behind victory. Idaho outgained South Alabama by a 419-350 margin however, did lose the turnover battle by a 2-1 margin. Leading the way for the Vandals was QB Matt Linehan who completed 23 of 38 passes for 273 yards and an TD. On the season, Idaho is averaging 25.3 ppg on 390.5 total yards per game (231.5 passing yds/g, 159.0 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Idaho has been led by QB Matt Linehan who has completed 64.1% of his passes for 7 TD and 4 INT while averaging 231.5 passing yds/g. The main receiving threats for Linehan and the Vandals has been Jacob Sannon (7.3 rec/g, 70.5 yds/g, TD) and Alfonso Onunwor (4.3 rec/g, 73.7 yds/g, 2 TD). The Idaho backfield has been led by Aaron Duckworth (14.8 att/g, 94.3 yds/g, 2 TD) and Isaiah Saunders (12.5 att/g, 58.3 yds/g, TD). Defensively, Idaho is holding their opponents to an average of 27.5 ppg on 359.3 total yards per game (151.5 passing yds/g, 207.8 rushing yds/g). Idaho has committed 9 turnovers on the season and currently have an overall turnover margin of -6.

The Ragin’ Cajuns are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 games on field turf and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Vandals are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 13-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Louisiana Lafayette have played a tough schedule to start the season however, there is no excuse for any team to being allowing their opponents to average 53.8 ppg which ranks last in scoring defense in all of College Football. Idaho has one of the better QB’s in Matt Linehan and will be looking to make another bowl game this season before heading back to the FCS next season. The line has really moved as the early action has been on the Vandals, and although Idaho is favored by a TD now, I think Matt Linehan in the offense does enough in this one to cover the spread.
