The Ohio Bobcats take the field with MAC rival the Bowling Green Falcons in Saturday college football.
The Ohio Bobcats need to begin another winning streak when the team visits the Bowling Green Falcons Saturday. Ohio saw their three game win streak come to an end in a 26-23 loss to the visiting Central Michigan Chippewas as a ten point favorite in week six that dropped them to 4-3. The Bobcats offense had been looking good but stalled with just a 350-318 yardage advantage which wasn’t nearly enough to overcome four turnovers and a blocked field goal that Central Michigan returned for a touchdown. Ohio quarterback Nathan Rourke connected on 17-31 for 160 yards with an interception while also leading the team on the ground with 105 yards and three touchdowns on 13 touches while AJ Ouellette added 65 yards on 15 carries. Brendan Cope paced the Bobcats with six catches for 58 yards but the offense had zero explosiveness.
The Bowling Falcons look to keep their season alive when the Ohio Bobcats come to town Saturday. Bowling Green had dropped five straight to open the year before surprising the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks on the road 37-29 as a 17 point underdog. The boxscore didn’t match the scoreboard as the Falcons were outgained 618-505 and had the ball for just over 24 minutes while Miami (Ohio) racked up 37 first downs. BGSU quarterback James Morgan did struggle to hook up with his receivers as he completed 11-25 for 222 yards but good things happened when he did with three touchdowns and an interception. The Bowling Green ground game took center stage with Andrew Clair totaling 121 yards on 16 carries while Josh Cleveland rumbled for 117 yard and a touchdown on ten totes. Teo Redding was the Falcons receiving game with 197 yards on eight catches with a pair of scores. The BGSU defense returned a fumble 93 yards with 1:21 remaining to seal the win.
