Down at Malone Stadium on Saturday, the Georgia State Panthers and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will be meeting up in college football action.
Georgia State sits at 2-2 this year following two losses to Tennessee State and Penn State, a win over Charlotte, a canceled game versus Memphis and a win over Central Carolina. In that most recent game, Georgia State QB Conner Manning put up an 18-of-30 line for 273 yards, one TD and one pick, while Glenn Smith led the way on the ground from 23 carries and 74 yards.

On the season so far, Smith has 164 yards, 54 carries and two TDs for the Panthers, and Manning has put up 815 yards, two touchdowns and four picks. Penny Hart is the top dog in the receiving game for Georgia State on 31 catches for 365 yards and two touchdowns.
The Warhawks sit at 3-2 on the year, with losses to Memphis and Southern Miss sandwiched around a canceled Florida State game, then three straight wins over Louisiana, Central Carolina and Texas State. In that Texas State game, LA-Monroe QB Caleb Evans put up a 24-of-37 line for 433 yards and three touchdowns, while Ben Luckett led the rush on 17 carries, 62 yards and one TD.
On the year, Evans has put up 1037 yards and six touchdowns; Derrick Gore leads the Louisiana-Monroe rush on 79 carries, 290 yards and five TDs. Marcus Green is tops in the Warhawks’ receiving corps with 19 catches for 277 yards and two TDs.
Georgia State is 8-0 ATS in their last eight games in October and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight-up win. The Panthers are also 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 conference games and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 road games.
Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven conference games and 4-1 ATS int her last five games overall. LA-Monroe is also 8-18-1 ATS in their last 27 home games and 2-11-1 ATS in their last 14 games in October.
The Georgia State offense stumbled out of the gate with just 10 points in their first two games combined. In the two games since, the Panthers have scored 28 and 27 points in something of a revival. As for Louisiana-Monroe, their offense has awoken after a couple of “meh” games, and they’ve scored at least 45 points in their last three outings. The Warhawks rush is really looking good right now, and I like Louisiana-Monroe to ride that to a cover here.
