We have some SEC action on the gridiron as the Florida Gators duke it out with the Missouri Tigers in a college football matchup.
The Florida Gators will try to rebound after dropping 3 straight games, including a 42-7 rout at the hands of then #3 Georgia in their last outing, resulting in Florida parting ways with head coach Jim McElwain. Malik Zaire and Feleipe Franks combined for just 66 passing yards and an interception on 10 for 25 passing. Lamical Perine led Florida with 93 rushing yards on 11 carries while Mark Thompson notched 38 rushing yards and the team's lone TD with his 6 carries. Thompson also shared the team lead in receiving with 17 yards and 2 receptions while Freddie Swain's lone catch went for 17 yards. Defensively, a Duke Dawson interception was the lone individual highlight as the Gators allowed 393 yards of total offense, including 292 rushing yards to the Bulldogs.
The Missouri Tigers will be looking to build on back-to-back wins after a 52-12 dismantling of UCONN in their last outing. Drew Lock threw for 377 yards and 5 touchdowns on 31 for 37 passing. Ish Witter led Mizzou with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries while Micah Wilson added a rushing score of his own as the Tigers combined to rack up 202 rushing yards on 33 carries. Johnathon Johnson led the team with 128 receiving yards and a touchdown on 5 catches, while J'Mon Moore caught a team-high 8 balls for 96 yards and a pair of scores. Albert Okwuegbunam added a pair of receiving TDs in the win as well. Defensively, Missouri combined for 4 sacks and a pick, all while allowing 354 yards of total offense and holding UCONN to a 9 for 23 mark on 3rd down.
Florida is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a win while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 road games. Missouri is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a win and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the under is 12-4 in their last 16 games against a team with a losing record.
Florida has won the last pair of meetings by a combined score of 61-21, and maybe a change at head coach will fix what ails the Gators. However, Missouri has looked solid in winning back-to-back games, and although Idaho and UCONN aren't on the same level of Florida, I need to see a change from the Gators before I can store any confidence in them, even with free points. This may come back to bite me, but I'll lay the points with Missouri here.
