Down in Blacksburg at Lane Stadium on Saturday, we’ve got college football action coming between the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Pittsburgh comes into this game with a 4-6 record overall. The Panthers had recorded two wins over Duke and Virginia but lost their last game versus North Carolina. In that NC game, Panthers QB Ben Dinucci put up 142 yards won 11-of-17 passing.

So far this year, Dinucci has 1037 yards, four touchdowns and four INTs, and Darrin Hall has 594 yards with nine TDs from 103 carries to lead the Pitt rush. Jester Weah is the top Panthers receiver with his 514 yards and four TDs from 31 catches.
Over on the Virginia Tech side, they’re coming into this one with a 7-3 record overall. The Hokies had a three-game win streak going but have lost their last two to Miami and Georgia Tech. In that Jackets game, Virginia Tech QB Josh Jackson put up 153 yards on 14-of-26 passing.
On the season, Jackson has 2382 yards with 17 touchdowns and six picks, and Travon McMillian is the top VT rusher on 101 carries for 434 yards and two scores. Cam Phillips heads up the Hokies receivers on 801 yards and six TDs from 60 receptions.
The Panthers are 2-0-2 ATS in their last four road games versus a team with a winning home record and 3-7-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Pittsburgh is also 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games on grass and the under is 5-0 in their last five road games.
Meanwhile, the Hokies are 4-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games. Virginia Tech is also 4-1 ATS in the last five home games versus a team with a losing road record and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in November.
After hanging just 17 on NC State, Pittsburgh’s offense has played pretty well since with at least 24 points in every game and two instances of 31 points scored. The Panthers are prone to giving up a lot of points on the other side, though. As for Virginia Tech, they’ve been uneven to say the least, giving up 56 points over their last two while scoring 32. This should be an entertaining game, but I like the Hokies to bounce back here and bag a cover.
