Over at Centennial Bank Stadium on Saturday, the Troy Trojans and the Arkansas State Red Wolves will be matching up in college football action.
Troy enters this game with a 9-2 record so far. The Trojans have won their last five outings versus Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Idaho, Coastal Carolina and Texas State. In that Texas State game, Troy QB Brandon Silvers put up 380 yards with four touchdowns.
USA TODAY Sports
On the season, Silvers has 2739 yards with 11 touchdowns and six picks, and Jordan Chunn is the top Troy rusher on 741 yards and 10 touchdowns. Leading the receivers for the Trojans is Deondre Douglas with 554 yards and three scores from 41 catches.
Over on the Arkansas State side, they’re currently 7-3 on the year. The Red Wolves lost to South Alabama back on November 11, but since then have beaten Texas State and UL Monroe. In last week’s game, Arkansas State QB Justice Hansen put up 520 yards with four TDs.
On the year, Hansen has 3193 yards with 32 TDs and 12 picks, and Arkansas State’s top rusher is Warren Wand with 624 yards and six scores. Justin McInnis is the leading Red Wolves receiver with 602 yards and three TDs.
The Trojans are 8-3 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games. Troy is also 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Red Wolves are 8-1 ATS in their last nine home games and 14-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Arkansas STAt is also 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games overall and 37-15-1 ATS in their last 53 conference games.
Troy has looked pretty darn good over their last five games—and really all season long. The Trojans haven’t allowed more than 24 points in any game this year, and have given up 17 or fewer in four of their last five. As for UL Monroe, they scored 67 points in their last outing, but the problem is they also gave up 50. All things considered, I like Troy to cover and win in a fun game.
