Coming up on Friday, December 22 at Albertsons Stadium, the Central Michigan Chippewas and the Wyoming Cowboys will be meeting up in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
Central Michigan comes into this one with an 8-4 record on the year. The Chippewas won their last five games against Ball State, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State and Northern Illinois. In that most recent game, Chippewas QB Shane Morris put up 247 yards with three TDs and a pick.

On the season, Morris put up 2908 yards with 26 TDs and 13 INTs, and Central Michigan’s top rusher is Jonathan Ward with 988 yards and nine scores off 167 carries. Mark Chapman leads the Chippewas receiving corps with 805 yards and five TDs from 54 catches.
Over on the Wyoming side, they’re sitting at 7-5 on the year. The Cowboys had a three-game win streak going but dropped their final pair against Fresno State and San Jose State. In that SJSU game, Wyoming QB Nick Smith put up 171 yards, one TD and two interceptions.
Josh Allen leads the Cowboys passing game with 1658 yards, 13 TDs and six picks, and Trey Woods is the leading rusher on 133 carries, 474 yards and two TDs. Austin Conway is tops in receiving for the Cowboys with 58 receptions, 520 yards and two scores.
The Chippewas are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up win and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win. Central Michigan is also 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six non-conference games.
Meanwhile, Wyoming is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a straight-up loss. The Cowboys are also 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the MAC and 1-5 ATS in their last six Friday games.
Central Michigan looked a little sketchy there for a while, losing four games in a five-game stretch. To their credit, the Chippewas picked it up on offense in their last five games, scoring at least 31 points in each. It’s looking like Wyoming will get Allen back for this game, and they’ll certainly need him after posting just 24 points over their last two games combined. Even so, I don’t think the Cowboys have the juice to keep up here, so I like Central Michigan for the win.
