Over at Chase Field on Tuesday evening, we’ve got college football action coming in the Cactus Bowl between the Kansas State Wildcats and the UCLA Bruins.

Kansas State comes into this game with a 7-5 record overall. The Wildcats opened up at 3-1, but then lost their next there games to fall to 3-4 and endanger themselves of losing bowl eligibility. To their credit, Kansas State stormed back late in the year on a 4-1 run to close things out.

USA TODAY Sports

Skylar Thompson will be leading the Kansas State offense, and he’s got 662 yards, five touchdowns and two picks this year. Alex Barnes is the top Wildcats rusher with 702 yards and six TDs from 134 totes, and Byron Pringle leads the receivers with 705 yards and six scores from 28 catches.

Over on the UCLA side, they’re sitting at 6-6 this season. The Bruins started out well enough with two wins, but then lost three of their next four games to fall back to .500 on the year. UCLA limped into bowl eligibility by finishing off he season at 3-3.

UCLA’s leading QB this year is Josh Rosen (who likely will not play in this bowl game), with 3756 yards, 26 TDs and 10 INTs. Tops in rushing is Bolu Olorunfunmi (542 yards; five TDs), while Jordan Lasley is the leading Bruins receiver with 1136 yards and eight TDs.

The Wildcats are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss and 5-1 ATS in their last six games in December. Kansas State is also 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the Pac-12.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are 7-16 ATS in their last 23 games on grass and 4-10 ATS in the last 14 games overall. UCLA is also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight-up win and 1-7 ATS in their last eight non-conference games.

Kansas State has been on a winning tear recently, but they’re certainly making things interesting. All of the Wildcats’ last four games have been decided by seven points or less, including a wild 20-19 win over Iowa State in their last appearance. As for UCLA, not having Rosen here is huge, but in all fairness Devon Modster has played pretty well with 30-of-45 passing, 376 yards and two TDs this year. I’m going to go out on a limb here and take UCLA, but I’m not thrilled about it.
