The Line: Arkansas State Red Wolves -28 -- Over/Under: 55 See the Latest Odds
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks open their college football season at the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks were only 3-8 a year ago but five of those defeats were by a single score or less. Southeast Missouri State allowed 22 points and scored just under 21 so finding a quarterback that can throw is job number one but there are four listed on the roster and no favorite. Kristian Wilkerson is the top returning Redhawks receiver while Jerrick Orr and Richie Eisenhart are receivers to keep an eye on.

SEMO will likely lean on their rushing attack and that means OVC Preseason POY running back Marquise Terry has a load to carry after totaling 1,076 yards in 2017. The Redhawks do return some quality along the O-Line so the rushing game will be the bread and butter of this unit. Five starters return on defense but the unit was the better side in practice.
The Arkansas State Red Wolves outscored opponents 38-26 which makes their 7-5 record a season ago a bit disappointing. Arkansas State quarterback Justice Hansen returns after throwing for nearly 4,000 yards in 2017 and he has four of his top seven receivers coming back. Justin McInnis returns after leading the Red Wolves with over 800 receiving yards while Omar Bayless is slotted as option two.
Arkansas State returns four starters along the offensive line that was not effective in the ground game with the team averaging around four yards per carry. Hansen and Warren Wand top the Red Wolves rushing attack that took a backseat to the passing game. The ASU defense is a question mark with just five starters back so this side of the ball could be a work in progress.
SE Missouri State are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games and are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games on fieldturf and are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. Arkansas State are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games on fieldturf and under is 4-1 in Arkansas State last 5 games on fieldturf and under is 4-1 in Arkansas State last 5 games in September.
I see some points being scored with Arkansas State doing most of the heavy lifting while Southeast Missouri State does enough to topple the over…
