The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers will be on the hunt for their first win of the season after falling to South Carolina by a final score of 49-15 in their last outing. Kilton Anderson threw for 91 yards on 11 of 13 passing, while Bryce Carpenter recorded a touchdown pass in the losing effort. Marcus Outlow led the Chanticleers’ ground attack with 12 carries for 59 yards, while Malcolm Williams led Coastal in receiving with 6 catches for 49 yards and Jaivon Helligh added a touchdown grab for Coastal Carolina in the loss. Defensively, Silas Kelly recorded a sack for Coastal while also leading the team with 8 tackles while Fitz Wattley and Anthony Chesley each had 6 tackles in the defeat.
UAB is 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against the Sun Belt while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Coastal Carolina is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in September while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 non-conference games.
Coastal Carolina as a home dog is tempting but the problem is that UAB is just a much better team than the Chanticleers. Sure, UAB isn’t on the same level as South Carolina, but the Blazers may be the most balanced team in all of C-USA and should be able to ride the confidence of their first shutout in 10 years to another double digit win here.
