The Florida A&M Rattlers began 2018 with a bang in a 41-7 rout of sub division Fort Valley State. Florida A&M took a 20-7 lead in to the half and never looked back despite allowing over 300 yards passing.

Rattlers quarterback Ryan Stanley connected on 11-20 for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions while DJ Phillips went 3-6 for 16 yard.
Xavier Smith led the Rattlers in receiving with two receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown while Bishop Bonnet ran for 79 yards on just eight carries as the offense did plenty of damage on the ground.
The Troy Trojans were not able to contain the Boise State offense in a 56-20 defeat in their opener as a ten point home dog. Troy lost the yardage battle 416-379 but four turnovers gave the Broncos too many opportunities with a pair of fumbles returned for touchdowns.
Trojans quarterback Kaleb Barker completed 20-29 for 211 yards with a touchdown and interception while Sawyer Smith hit 4-5 for 44 yards. Deondre Douglas was the top Trojans receiver with seven catches for 102 yards and a 33 yard TD. Jabir Daughtry-Frye paced the Trojans on the ground with 41 yards on seven touches and a score.
