The Towson Tigers and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will be matching up in college football activity on Saturday, September 8 from BB&T Field.
Towson has one win so far this year, as they took out Morgan State 36-10 in their inaugural game. It took the Tigers a bit to get going, but they hit their stride in the second and third quarters, outscoring Morgan State 28-3 in those frames.

Tom Flacco had a solid game for the Tigers in that opening game, going 18-of-28 for 245 yards, two TDs and one pick. Kobe Young was the top Towson rusher, logging seven carries for 66 yards and a score.
Over on the Wake Forest side, they’re 1-0 as well, taking out Tulane last Thursday 23-17 in an intense overtime game. the Deacons were up 7-0 at halftime but were outscored 17-10 in the second half before finally taking care of business in OT.
Sam Hartman was a busy guy in the Tulane win, leading the Deacons on 31-of-51 passing for 378 yards, two scores and two picks. Hartman was also the leading Wake Forest rusher with 13 carries for 64 yards.
Towson is 1-4 ATS in their last five games on turf, and the Demon Deacons are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games versus a team with a winning road record. Wake Forest is 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games following an ATS loss and the over is 6-1 in their last seven home games versus a team with a winning road record. The Deacons are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games in September.
Both these teams had a few nice things to take away from their opening games, and also a few things to work on. Most people figured Wake would come out a little more dominant, but Hartman’s all-around performance saved the team from something of a toothless outing in a lot of areas. I’m likely going to go with the Deacons here, but it might be a lot closer than some people think.
