The Connecticut Huskies and the Syracuse Orange will meet up at Carrier Dome on Saturday for college football activity in Week 4 of the season.
UConn is sitting at 1-2 so far this season. The Huskies fell to UCF 56-17 in the opener then 62-7 to Boise State before getting their first win 56-49 over Rhode Island.

In that Rhode Island matchup, Connecticut QB David Lindell logged 308 yards, four touchdowns and one INT while Kevin Mensah bagged 144 yards and two scores on the ground. Heron Maurisseau caught just one ball, but it was a 74-yard TD grab.
As for Syracuse, they’re coming in at 3-0 after wins over Western Michigan 55-42, Wagner 62-10 and Florida State 30-7 in their first three games.
In the Florida State game, Syracuse QB Tommy Devito posted 144 yards and a TD, while Moe Neal led the rush on 19 carries for 75 yards. Jamal Curtis was the leading Orange receiver with four catches for 56 yards.
The Huskies are 15-34-2 ATS in their last 52 following an ATS loss and 15-33-3 ATS in their last 51 non-conference games. Connecticut is 10-26-1 ATS in their last 37 road games and 14-37-1 ATS in their last 52 overall.
Meanwhile, the Orange are 5-0 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win and 4-0 ATS in their last four non-conference games. Syracuse is 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 overall and 1-3-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
The worst thing Syracuse can do is look past this game at the looming Clemson matchup that’s coming on the 29th. Seeing as how they’ve allowed just 17 points over their last pair of outings, it would be understandable for the Orange to pencil this one in as a win. UConn has proven they can score when the circumstances are right, so Syracuse could get into trouble taking this one as a cupcake matchup. Ultimately however, I don’t think the Orange will stumble here so I’ll go Syracuse for the cover. Do some shopping around for a good-looking line, though.
