In the Campbell game, Coastal Carolina QB Kilton Anderson led the way on 202 yards with three TDs and a pick, while also topping the rushers on five carries for 67 yards. Ky’Jon Tyler was the lead receiver with his 81-yard touchdown catch.
As for UL Lafayette, they are 1-1 on the young season so far. The Cajuns destroyed Grambling State 49-17 in their opener, but then faced a tough battle against MS State and fell 56-10.
In that latest game, UL Lafayette QB Andre Nunez went 21-of-29 for 244 yards, one TD and one INT. Trey Ragas led the Cajuns’ rush with seven carries for 49 yards, and Keenan Barnes was the top receiver on 76 yards from four grabs.
The Chanticleers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The over is 8-0 in Coastal Carolina’s last eight games in September and 7-1 in their last eight road games.
Meanwhile, the Cajuns are 20-9 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games in September. The over is 6-0 in the Cajuns’ last six overall and 5-1 in their last six home games.
Both these teams have shown offensive flashes during this young year, but the key in this one is going to be balance. Whoever can showcase all facets of their offense is going to put up the points here and keep the opposing defense on its heels. I think Coastal Carolina has a good shot at doing that so I’m going with the Chanticleers. Realistically though, it’s going to be a close game and one you should probably stay away from.
