The Old Dominion Monarchs will face off against the Marshall Thundering Herd in college football action from Foreman Field on Saturday.
Marshall comes in here with a 3-2 record overall. The Herd took out Miami (OH) and Eastern Kentucky to start the year, then had a win over Western KY sandwiched between losses to NC State and Middle Tennessee.

In the Middle Tennessee game, Marshall QB Alex Thomson put up 173 yards with two TDs and a pick, and Tyler King led the rush on 165 yards from 27 carries. Leading the Herd in receiving was Tyre Brady with 58 yards off six grabs.
Over on the Old Dominion side, they’re currently 1-5 on the season. The Monarchs’ lone win came in a crazy 49-35 affair at Virginia Tech, but otherwise they’ve lost to Liberty, FIU, Charlotte, East Carolina and FL Atlantic.
In that last game, Old Dominion QB Blake LaRussa logged 390 yards with two TDs and two picks, and Kesean Strong had a nice day on the ground with 99 yards and three TDs. Travis Fulgham managed 151 yards and a score on 10 grabs.
The Herd are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games. Marshall is 0-4 ATS in their last four overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four on turf.
Meanwhile, the Monarchs are 4-0 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 8-18-1 ATS in their last 27 following an ATS loss. ODU is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall.
Marshall has put up a few big performances here and there, and they have a handful of really solid playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. The Herd can definitely score points when so motivated.
As for Old Dominion, they’ve put up some nice offensive performances as well, but are just getting drilled on the defensive end. I like ODU to stick around and cover here.
