The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks and the Texas State Bobcats will meet up at Malone Stadium on Saturday from the college football circuit.

LA-Monroe enters this one at 3-4 on the season. The Warhawks have fallen to Texas A&M, Troy, Georgia State and Mississippi but won their last outing versus Coastal Carolina to go along with wins over SE LA and Southern Miss.

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

In the Chanticleers game, LA-Monroe QB Caleb Evans put up 224 yards with one TD, and Derrick Gore led the rush on 147 yards and two TDs. Tops in receiving for the Warhawks was Marcus Green on five catches for 111 yards and a TD.

Over on the Texas State side, they’re currently 1-5 this season. The Bobcats’ lone win came against TX Southern early in the year, but they’ve otherwise dropped games to Rutgers, South Alabama, UTSA, Louisiana and GA Southern.

In the GA Southern game, Texas State QB Tyler Vitt put up 132 yards with a TD and a pick, while Keenen Brown rushed twice for 64 yards and a TD. Hutch White led the receivers with his 41 yards from four grabs.

Texas State is 4-1 ATS in their last five on grass and 2-5-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record. The Bobcats are 2-11 ATS in their last 13 following an ATS win and the over is 4-1 in their last five following an ATS win.

Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last seven games on grass. UL Monroe is 0-4 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 in October.

LA-Monroe had that sketchy four-game losing streak that so far is defining their season. In those four games, the Warhawks didn’t score more than 27 points and gave up at least 35 in each game.

As for Texas State, they’ve had some good offensive showings this year but couldn't get the defense to come along in those games. In the Bobcats’ strong defensive games, conversely, they haven’t been able to put up much in the way of points.

I have to go with Louisiana-Monroe here due to their potential, but nothing is certain in this game.
