In the Middle Tennessee game, Charlotte QB Evan Shirreffs put up 209 yards with a TD and two picks, and Ben Lemay logged 129 yards with a TD on the ground. Lemay was also the lead Charlotte receiver on 58 yards from three catches.
Over on the Southern Miss side, they’re sitting at 3-3 this season. The Eagles have fallen to LA-Monroe, Auburn and North Texas while beating Jackson State, Rice and UTSA.
In the UTSA game, Southern Miss QB Jack Abraham put up 269 yards, one TD and one pick, and Trivenskey Mosley was the lead rusher on 142 yards from 26 carries. Tim Jones was tops in receiving for the Golden Eagles with seven grabs for 107 yards.
The Eagles are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 following an ATS loss and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 in October. The under is 4-1 in Southern Miss’ last five games overall and 4-1 in their last five in October.
Meanwhile, the Niners are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight in October. Charlotte is 5-1 ATS in their last six on turf and 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games.
Charlotte has been pretty hit-and-miss this year, as it seems when they’re scoring they’re giving up points on the other side as well. The Niners have failed to crack 13 points in two of their last three games.
As for Southern Miss, they looked pretty solid in the UTSA game, which was a nice bounce-back from logging just 20 points against 54 allowed in their previous two losses.
This looks like a pretty interesting matchup, but I think Southern Miss holds all the cards here.
