The Boston College Eagles and the Florida State Seminoles will be matching up in week 12 ACC college football action Saturday at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Boston College sits at 7-3 on the season. The Eagles have taken out UMass, Holy Cross, Wake Forest, Temple, Louisville, Miami (FL) and Virginia Tech but lost to Purdue, NC State and Clemson.
In the Tigers game, Boston College QB EJ Perry posted 98 yards on 12-of-21 passing while AJ Dillon led the rush on 39 yards. Tops in receiving for the Eagles was Kobay White with 65 yards on four grabs.
Over on the Florida State side, they’re sitting at 4-6 this year. The Seminoles’ wins have come against Samford, Northern IL, Louisville and Wake Forest, but they’ve lost to Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Miami (FL), Clemson, NC State and Notre Dame.
In the Irish game, Florida State QB Deondre Francois put up 216 yards and a pick, and Cam Akers held down the rush with 63 yards and two TDs. Tops in receiving for the Seminoles was Nyqwan Murray with 79 yards on six catches.
The Eagles are 6-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss. Florida State is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven in November and 12-3-1 ATS in the last 16 conference games.
Meanwhile, the Seminoles are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall and 1-5 ATS versus a team with a winning record. Florida State is 2-11-2 ATS in their last 15 conference games and 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS loss.
Well, the Eagles really didn’t do much offensively in the Clemson game, and they didn’t do much of anything at all after a 10-7 first quarter, but they do get a little credit for hanging in there most of the game against a very tough opponent.
As for Florida State, they’ve had to run through a gauntlet of very good conference teams over their last three, so their record has suffered accordingly.
This is a pretty decent matchup but all things considered I think Boston College can get it done here if their injury situations pan out.
