The Buffalo Bulls will travel to Doyt Perry Stadium to take on the Bowling Green Falcons this Friday night in College Football action.
The Buffalo Bulls had their 5-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 9-2 (6-1 MAC-East) on the season after being defeated the Ohio Bobcats, 52-17, this past Wednesday. Buffalo got off to a quick 7-0 lead agianst Ohio, however, it was all down hill from there for the Bulls and Buffalo couldn’t fight back after 31-unanswered points by the Bobcats gave Ohio a 31-7 lead late in the 2nd quarter. Buffalo was outgained by Ohio by a 646-277 margin and won the turnover battle by a 5-1 margin. Leading the way for the Bulls was WR Anthony Johnson who had 95 receiving yards on 6 receptions.
On the season, Buffalo is averaging 34.5 ppg on 413.6 total yards per game (225.3 passing yds/g; 188.4 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Buffalo has been led by QB Tyree Jackson who has completed 55.2% of his passes for 24 TD & 10 INT while averaging 223.1 passing yds/g. Jackson is a threat to run the football when he has too and currently has 7 rushing TD’s on the season. The top receivers for the Bulls have been Anthony Johnson (4.1 rec/g; 79.4 yds/g; 9 TD), K.J. Osborn (4.1 rec/g; 69.2 yds/g; 6 TD), and Charlie Jones (1.5 rec/g; 30.9 yds/g; 3 TD). Leading the way for the Bulls backfield has been the duo of Jaret Patterson (12.6 att/g; 71.5 yds/g; 10 TD) & Kevin Marks (12.0 att/g; 60.9 yds/g; 9 TD). Defensively, Buffalo is allowing their opponents to average 25.2 ppg on 357.6 total yards per game (177.5 passing yds/g; 180.2 rushing yds/g).
The Bowling Green Falcons won their 2nd straight game and improved to 3-8 (2-5 MAC-East) on the season after defeating the Akron Zips, 21-6, this past Saturday. Bowling Green was outstanding on the defensive side of the ball against the Zips and had no trouble securing the victory after taking a 14-6 lead late in the 3rd quarter. Bowling Green outgained Akron by a 401-227 margin and committed 2 turnovers in the victory. Leading the way for the Falcons was QB Jarret Doege who completed 19 of 27 passes for 2 TD & 1 INT.
On the season, Bowling Green is averaging 25.3 ppg on 369.1 total yards per game (247.2 passing yds/g; 121.9 rushing yds/g). Offensively, Bowling Green has been led by QB Jarret Doege who has completed 62.9% of his passes for 26 TD & 11 INT while averaging 234.2 passing yds/g. Defensively, Bowling Green is allowing their opponents to average 39.6 ppg on 445.4 total yards per game (169.1 passing yds/g; 276.3 rushing yds/g).
The Bulls are 5-0 ATS vs. a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Falcons are 28-13-1 ATS in their last 42 games in November however, are just 7-20 ATS in their last 27 home games.
Bowling Green has been able to pick up some nice wins over the past two weeks, however, those wins came agianst Akron and Central Michigan who haven’t been able to score on anyone this season. Buffalo is much better than the team we saw last week and between the fact they do need to win this game to guarantee their spot in the MAC Championship and should have their way agianst the Falcons 122nd ranked scoring defense, I’m taking Buffalo to cover this big spread.
