The Syracuse Orange will take on the Boston College Eagles on Saturday from BC Alumni Stadium in a huge college football ACC matchup.
Syracuse enters this game at 8-3 this year. The Orange have taken out Western MI, Wagner, Florida State, UConn, UNC, NC State, Wake Forest and Louisville but lost to Clemson, Pitt and Notre Dame.
In the Irish game, Syracuse QB Tommy Devito put up 105 yards and two picks, while Moe Neal led the rush on 74 yards. Tops in receiving for the Orange was Taj Harris’ 78 yards on five catches.
Over on the Boston College side, they’re 7-4 this season. The Eagles have beaten UMass, Holy Cross, Wake Forest, Temple, Louisville, Miami FL and VT but fallen to Purdue, NC State, Clemson and Florida State.
In the Seminoles game, Boston College QB Anthony Brown managed 297 yards, one TD and two picks, but AJ Dillon had a good game on 116 yards and two scores. Tops in receiving was Kobay White, who brought 121 yards on seven catches to the Eagles.
The Orange are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven conference games. Syracuse is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 overall and 9-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 on turf. BC is 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 conference games and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 overall.
Syracuse probably should have put up more of a fight against the Irish, but it was just a bad day all around. Realistically though, it’s the Orange’s only real blemish this year, as their other two losses have come by one score.
As for BC, the Florida State and NC State losses really stick out, and they couldn’t get much going against Clemson.
I’m probably going to stick with the Orange to cover here in what should be a pretty good game.
