The Charlotte 49ers and the Florida Atlantic Owls face off on Saturday ain college football action at FAU Stadium.
Charlotte comes into this game with a 4-7 record so far. The 49ers losses this season have come at the hands of App State, UMass, UAB, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee, Marshall and FIU.
In the FIU game, Charlotte QB Hasasn Klugh put up 253 yards, one TD and one pick, while Ben Lemay led the rush on 159 yards and four TDs. Victor Tucker led the 49ers receivers with his 115 yards from four catches.
Over on the FAU side, they’re 5-6 this season. The Owls’ losses this year have come courtesy of Oklahoma, UCF, Middle Tennessee, Marshall, LA Tech and North Texas.
In the North Texas matchup, FAU quarterback Chris Robison put up 294 yards, two TDs and two INTs, and Devin Singletary had 91 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Harrison Bryant had a great day for FAU with 138 yards and a TD on six catches to lead the receivers.
Charlotte is 5-2 ATS in their last seven following an ATS loss and 5-2 ATS versus a team with a losing record. The over is 5-1 in the 49ers’ last six versus a team with a losing record and they’re 4-1 ATS in their last five after posting more than 200 rush yards.
Meanwhile, the Owls are 5-1 ATS in their last six in November and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS win. FAU is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 conference games and 5-12-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
After a pretty shoddy run of offensive output, Charlotte put up 35 points in a nice effort versus FIU—trouble was, FIU scored 42 on the Niners.
As for Florida Atlantic, they had a nice offensive game as well against North Texas (but gave up 41 points), which continues a three-game trend of at least 34 points per outing.
I’m going to stick with the Owls to manage the cover here.
