The Nevada Wolf Pack and the UNLV Rebels will be meeting up in college football action on Saturday from Sam Boyd Stadium.
Nevada rolls into this one at 7-4 on the season. The Wolf Pack’s losses have come against Vanderbilt, Toledo, Fresno State and Boise State but they’ve otherwise beaten Portland State, Oregon State, Air Force, Hawaii, San Diego State, Colorado State and San Jose State.
In the SJSU game, Nevada QB Ty Gangi put up 314 yards, one TD and one pick, and Toa Taua managed 121 rush yards and a score. Romeo Doubs was the lead receiver for the Wolf Pack with 105 yards on five grabs.
Over on the UNLV side, they’re 3-8 this season. The Rebels have beaten UTEP, Prairie View and San Diego State this year, but fallen to USC, Arkansas State, New Mexico, Utah State, Air Force, San Jose State, Fresno State and Hawaii.
In the Hawaii game, UNLV quarterback Armani Rogers had just 60 yards and one TD, but Lexington Thomas rushed for 129 and two touchdowns. Brandon Presley had three catches for 27 yards to lead the UNLV receivers.
The Wolf Pack are 6-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games. Nevada is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five on turf.
Meanwhile, the Rebels are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six on turf. UNLV is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight conference games.
Nevada had a rough stretch of games in the middle of the season, losing three of four outings, but since then they’ve righted the ship and rattled off four pretty good-looking wins.
As for UNLV, they’ve lost seven of their last eight games and at this point are just finishing out the schedule—and have been for a while. I like Nevada to take the cover here.
