Breaking Down The Air Force Falcons Win Total
2020 College Football Season
Air Force Falcons: 8.5 wins -- Title Odds: +150000 Click to Get Latest Betting Odds
The Air Force Falcons won 11 games last season, easily one of their best seasons in school history.
This season, Air Force has a win total set at 8.5 wins, meaning for the over to hit, the Falcons would win at least nine games back-to-back years for the first time since 1997-98. Check back all season long for free college football picks and college football predictions at Sports Chat Place.
The good news for Air Force is that it has a proven quarterback in Donald Hammond III, who threw for and rushed for 13 touchdowns, and it’s key to have experience at the QB position in this offense. The Falcons offense also has a 1,000-yard rusher returning in Kadin Remsberg, who has been key to this Air Force offense the last two seasons.
The bad news is that’s about all Air Force is returning from last years squad, as the Falcons return just 42 percent of last seasons production, which is 128th in college football. Only UTEP and Utah return less production from last season. Air Force has to replace 62 percent of its production on defense, a defense that was 17th in the country last season yards allowed per game. That doesn't include having to find a bunch of reliable offensive linemen and wide receivers as well. There’s going to be a lot of new faces on this Air Force team and there are sure to be growing pains early.
What makes things worse is that Air Force has a rough start to the schedule with games against Boise State, and road games against Purdue and Fresno State. Air Force gets Navy at home, but it doesn’t make that game much easier. Air Force then finishes its five games of the schedule with road contests against Wyoming, Army and Utah State, which are all games the Falcons will probably be underdogs.
The Air Force Falcons don’t land high level recruits and it usually takes time to mold production, so losing the bulk of last years contributors all at once doesn’t bode well.
I’m going to side with the under 8.5 wins for the Air Force Falcons.
