The Missouri State Bears and Central Arkansas Bears meet Saturday in week 4 college football action at Estes Stadium.
The Missouri State Bears look for a victory after getting smacked by Oklahoma in their season opener. The Missouri State Bears have lost six of their last seven road games. Jaden Johnson is completing 47.4 percent of his passes for 72 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. Johnson and Jake VanDyne have combined for 81 passing yards. Lorenzo Thomas and Jordan Murray have combined for 60 receiving yards on six catches while Damoriea Vick has two receptions. The Missouri State Bears ground game is averaging 54 yards per contest, and Tarrell Roberts leads the way with 26 yards on one carry. Defensively, Missouri State is allowing 48 points and 608 yards per game. Tylar Wiltz leads the Missouri State Bears with 12 tackles, Isaiah Sayles has one sack and Jeremy Webb has one interception.
The Central Arkansas Bears look for a feel good victory here to get a game above a .500 record. The Central Arkansas Bears have won four of their last six home games. Breylin Smith is completing 53.6 percent of his passes for 476 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. Smith obviously has to take better care of the football for the Bears to be a successful team. Lujuan Winningham and Tyler Hudson have combined for 238 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Tobias Enlow has four receptions. The Central Arkansas Bears ground game is averaging 138.5 yards per contest, and Kierre Crossley leads the way with 169 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Central Arkansas is allowing 31 points and 396 yards per game. Cameron Godfrey leads the Central Arkansas Bears with 17 tackles, Jalen Bedell has one sack and Malik Wilson has one interception.
Will update with trends once they're released.
The Missouri State Bears showed nothing in their opening loss against Oklahoma, and while that's expected, it also reminds us of the team that finished with a 1-10 record last season. The Central Arkansas Bears are off a solid 1-1 start, and they hung around with UAB on the road last week despite being 20-point underdogs. Central Arkansas is the easier team to trust in this spot and has shown us far more. I'll lay the chalk with Central Arkansas in this spot.
