The Miami Hurricanes and Clemson Tigers meet Saturday in week 6 college football action at Memorial Stadium.
The Miami Hurricanes look for a statement road win to start a CFB season 4-0 for the first time since 2017. The Miami Hurricanes have split their last six road games. D'Eriq King is completing 67 percent of his passes for 736 yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions. King has two or more touchdown passes in four of his last seven games. Brevin Jordan and Mark Pope have combined for 354 receiving yards and three touchdowns while Mike Harley has 12 receptions. The Miami Hurricanes ground game is averaging 232.3 yards per contest, and Cam'Ron Harris leads the way with 311 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Miami is allowing 19.3 points and 377 yards per game. Amari Carter leads the Miami Hurricanes with 19 tackles, Zach McCloud has two sacks and Al Blades Jr. has two interceptions.
The Clemson Tigers look for another victory to start 4-0 for the sixth straight college football season. The Clemson Tigers haven’t lost a home game since November of 2016. Trevor Lawrence is completing 73.3 percent of his passes for 848 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. Lawrence has two or more touchdown passes in 11 of his last 13 games. Amari Rodgers and Frank Ladson Jr. have combined for 385 receiving yards and five touchdowns while Travis Etienne has nine receptions. The Clemson Tigers ground game is averaging 161.3 yards per contest, and Etienne leads the way with 243 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Clemson is allowing 12 points and 303 yards per game. Baylon Spector leads the Clemson Tigers with 21 tackles, Myles Murphy has two sacks and Nolan Turner has one interception.
The Hurricanes are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games in October and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 conference games. The Tigers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games in October, 17-5 ATS in their last 22 conference games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games. The under is 15-5-2 in Hurricanes last 22 road games. The under is 5-2 in Tigers last 7 games overall. The Hurricanes are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
People have been saying these last few years that Miami is back, and the Hurricanes have gone on to lose to Clemson the last two games by a combined score of 96-3. While Miami has a solid road win over Louisville already this season, it's a game like this that will truly prove its worth. And while we know what Clemson brings to the table and its dominance at home especially, Miami finally has a worthy quarterback capable of making plays both on the ground and through the air, and this Hurricanes defense is out here making plays with 10 sacks and six turnovers through three games. It feels like Miami finally has a bit more balance to give Clemson a run for its money.
I'll take the points in what should be a fun ACC clash.
