The Kentucky Wildcats and the Tennessee Volunteers meet in SEC college football action from Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.
The Kentucky Wildcats will look to build off of a 24-2 win over Mississippi State last time out to pick up their first win of the season. Terry Wilson has thrown for 463 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception on 61.3% passing while also leading Kentucky in rushing with 221 yards and 3 touchdowns. Christopher Rodriguez Jr. has 184 rushing yards with 3 rushing scores as well and Asim Rose has 170 rushing yards. Josh Ali has a team-high 208 receiving yards and a team-high 18 receptions this season. Defenisvely, Jamin Davis leads the Wildcats with 23 total tackles and a team-high 14 solo tackles while BRandin Echols has 14 solo tackles as well and Jamar Watson has a pair of sacks this season.
The Tennessee Volunteers will look to rebound from their first loss of the season coming in the form of a 44-21 loss to Georgia last time out. Jarrett Guarantano has thrown for 664 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception on 62.2% passing while Ty Chandler leads the Vols in rushing with 187 rushing yards and Eric Gray has 170 rushing yards and a pair of rushing TDs. Josh Palmer leads Tennessee’s receiving group with 14 catches for 227 yards and 3 touchdowns while Brandon Johnson has 118 receiving yards. Henry To’o To’o has a team-high 23 total tackles and 11 solo tackles while Deandre Johnson has a team-high 3.5 sacks this season.
Kentucky is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a road underdog. Tennessee is 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 conference games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 home games. Kentucky is 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams at Tennessee.
Kentucky finally got their first win and looked pretty good in shutting down the Mississippi State offense while doing it. With that said, Tennessee’s loss to Georgia doesn’t move the needle much for me as Georgia’s done that kind of thing to a lot of teams in the past and Tennessee’s still going to be a force in the SEC this season. I think that Tennessee’s more than capable of bouncing back and winning this one by 7-10 points, so I’ll lay the points with Tennessee here.
