The Iowa State Cyclones and the Kansas Jayhawks meet in Big 12 college football action from David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a game with a large point spread.

The Iowa State Cyclones come into this one looking to rebound after having their 3-game winning streak snapped, falling to 3-2 with a 24-21 loss to Oklahoma State last time out. Brock Purdy has thrown for 1,074 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 61% passing while Breece Hall has 716 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. Purdy and Kene Nwangwu also have 100+ rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns apiece this season. Xavier Hutchinson leads Iowa State with 28 catches for 297 yards and 2 touchdowns while Charlie Kolar, Chase Allen and Landen Akers all have 100+ receiving yards this season. Defensively, Mike Rose and Jake Hummel each have a team-high 40 total tackles with Rose posting a team-high 24 solo tackles as well as a pair of interceptions while Hummel has 23 solo tackles. Will McDonald IV has 4.5 sacks to lead Iowa State and JaQuan Bailey has 3.5 sacks this season.

The Kansas Jayhawks are still hunting for their first win after falling to 0-5 with a 55-14 loss to Kansas State last time out. Jalon Daniels has thrown for 381 yards and an interception on 57% passing while Miles Kendrick has thrown for 341 yards, 3 touchdowns and 4 picks on 60.6% passing. Velton Gardner leads the Jayhawks in rushing with 297 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns while Pooka Williams Jr. has 196 rushing yards and a pair of scores as well, but Williams Jr. opted out of the 2020 season last week. Kwamie Lassiter II has a team-high 22 catches for 229 yards while Andrew Parchment has 17 grabs for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Defensively, Kenny Logan Jr. leads KU with 40 total tackles including a team-high 29 solo tackles while Davon Ferguson has 27 total tackles including 21 solo tackles.

Iowa State is 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a favorite while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games following a loss. Kansas is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games overall. The home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

I’m not the kind of person to condone laying four touchdowns on the road in most cases. However, the Kansas Jayhawks are a joke of a football team and are by far the worst football team in the country at the moment. In four conference games this season, Kansas has been outscored 187-52, an average of 33.7 points per game. Iowa State’s one of the better 3-2 teams on the offensive side of the football, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Kansas gets beat by 30+ in every one of their games the rest of the way, starting with this one. I’ll lay the points with Iowa State here.
