The Liberty Flames and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet in college football action from Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on Saturday afternoon in an out of conference matchup.

The Virginia Tech Hokies will look to build on a 42-35 win over Louisville last time out to improve to 4-2 on the year. Hendon Hooker has thrown for 653 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 picks on 63.4% passing while Braxton Burmeister has 348 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception on 46% passing. Khalil Herbert has a team-high 803 rushing yards with 6 touchdowns while Hooker has 359 yards and 7 scores this year. Liberty is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games as a road underdog while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 non-conference games. Virginia Tech is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record.
This is going to be one heck of a game as I can easily see Liberty walking out of Blacksburg with a win but I can also see the Hokies rising to the occasion and putting out a solid effort to defend home field. Either way, I think we have a shootout on our hands. Virginia Tech’s scored at least 40 points in each of their two home games this season, while Liberty’s put up at least 30 in 5 of their 6 games this season. This could be a game where both teams get into the 40s, so give me the over in this game.
