The Auburn Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs meet in SEC conference college football action from Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Auburn Tigers will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 48-11 romp over LSU to improve to 4-2 on the year. Bo Nix has thrown for 1,407 yards, 9 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 60.7% passing while also rushing for 274 yards and 3 TDs. Tarik Bigsby leads Auburn with 503 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns while D.J. Williams has 117 rushing yards and Shaun Shivers has 107 rushing yards this season. Seth Williams leads Auburn’s receiving group with 511 receiving yards and 3 TDs while Anthony Schwartz has a team-high 38 grabs for 422 yards. Eli Stove also has 21 catches for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns of his own this season. On defense, Zakoby McClain leads Auburn with 62 total tackles while Owen Pappoe has 53 total tackles and a team-high 36 solo tackles. Both McClain and Pappoe each have a pair of sacks while Roger McCreary has a pair of interceptions.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs could use a win to get out of the SEC West basement at 2-4 despite a 24-17 win over Vanderbilt last time out. K.J. Costello has thrown for 1,283 yards, 6 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on 64.7% passing while Will Rogers has 536 passing yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 picks on 71.6% passing. Jo’quavious Marks leads the Bulldogs in rushing with 131 rushing yards while Osirus Mitchell has 26 catches for a team-high 336 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Kylin Hill, Malik Heath and JaVonta Payton each have 200+ receiving yards while Austin Williams, Jaden Walley, the aforementioned Marks and Tyrell Shavers all have 100+ receiving yards this season. Defensively, Erroll Thompson leads Mississippi State with 57 total tackles and a team-high 17 solo tackles while Tyrus Wheat has a team-high 3.5 sacks and Marquiss Spencer has 2.5 sacks and Emmanuel Forbes has a pair of interceptions for the Bulldogs this season.

Auburn is 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Mississippi State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games while the under is 37-15 in their last 52 conference games. The under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams and 7-0 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams at Mississippi State.

Seeing Mississippi State snap their losing streak was a nice sign, but you need more than a win over Vanderbilt before I’m going to back you against an Auburn team that’s turned it on lately. This may not be a typical Auburn defense, but they’ll do alright against a Mississippi State team that probably should’ve lost last week after finishing with negative rushing yards against the worst team in the SEC in Vandy. I just think that Auburn’s the better team and is going to flex some muscle here against a Mississippi State squad scoring just 16.3 points per game. I’ll lay the points with Auburn in this game as I see the Tigers winning by at least 17 points.
