The USF Bulls host the UCF Knights as they meet in AAC rivalry college football action from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Friday afternoon.
The UCF Knights will look to rebound after falling to 5-3 on the year after a 36-33 loss to Cincinnati last time out. Dillon Gabriel has thrown for 3,017 yards, 26 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 61.7% passing while Otis Anderson leads UCF’s ground attack with 614 rushing yards and 4 TDs. Greg McCrae has 551 rushing yards with a team-high 8 rushing TDs while Bentavious Thompson has 259 rushing yards and 3 scores. Marlon Williams leads the Knights in receiving with 71 grabs for 1,039 yards and 10 touchdowns while Jaylon Robinson has 46 receptions for 854 yards and 5 scores. Ryan O’Keefe and Jacob Harris each have 350+ receiving yards this season, with O’Keefe logging 3 touchdowns and Harris putting up 4 scores this season. On defense, Richie Grant leads the UCF unit with 65 total tackles including a team-high 43 solo tackles and 3 interceptions while Kenny Turnier has a team-high 4 sacks and Cam Goode has 3 sacks.
The USF Bulls will still be looking for their first conference win of the season after falling to 0-6 in conference play and 1-7 overall with a 7th straight loss in the form of a 56-21 loss to Houston. Jordan McCloud has thrown for 937 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 59.5% passing while Noah Johnson has 459 passing yards this year. Johnny Ford leads USF’s backfield with 285 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns and Kelley Joiner has 252 rushing yards while Brian Battle has 230 rushing yards for the Bulls. Omarion Dollison leads USF in receiving with 249 receiving yards while DeVontres Dukes, Latrell Williams and Bryce Miller each have 200+ receiving yards with Miller logging a team-high 22 catches this season. On defense, Antonio Grier leads USF’s receiving group with 47 total tackles including a team-high 28 solo tackles and 3 sacks. Daquan Evans leads USF with 3 interceptions and Mekhi LaPointe has a pair of picks for the Bulls on the year.
UCF is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite of 10.5 points or more. USF is 7-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games overall and 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss of 20 or more points.
This is a dangerous number, especially with USF at home. Sure, the Bulls have been getting blown out left and right, but this is also a USF team that lost to Memphis by one and Temple by two while eking out a cover over Cincinnati depending on the number you got for that game. With that said, UCF is going to be ticked off that they let one slip away against Cincinnati and while UCF’s chances of going to the AAC title game have pretty much gone up in smoke, these Knights won’t hesitate to take out some frustration on a subpar USF squad. I think this is a game that could get very, very ugly, so I’ll lay the points with UCF in this spot.
