SMU is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games on grass. East Carolina is 15-39 ATS in their last 54 games against a team with a winning record and 17-37-1 ATS in their last 55 conference games while the over is 10-4 in their last 14 games overall. The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams at East Carolina.
I’m trying to make a case for both sides as SMU has a high-powered offense, but the Mustangs may be rusty after an unexpected bye week while East Carolina has confidence after beating Temple, but the Pirates have no defense outside of last game and SMU isn’t a team you want to play with no D. Instead, I’m going to side with the over as I’m expecting a ton of points in this game. I think SMU could get into the 40s and East Carolina into the high-20s or low 30s, but I’m thinking at least 75 points if not into the 80s. Give me the over here.
