The Navy Midshipmen host the Memphis Tigers when they meet in AAC college football action from Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis on Saturday night.

The Memphis Tigers will look to build off of a confidence-building 56-14 win over Stephen F. Austin last time out. Brady White has thrown for 2,397 yards, 23 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 61.6% passing while Rodrigues Clark leads the Tigers in rushing with 500 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Kylan Watkins has 384 rushing yards and Marquavius Weaver has 125 rushing yards this season. Calvin Austin III leads Memphis’ receiving group with 46 grabs for 820 yards and 7 touchdowns while Sean Dykes has 474 receiving yards with 6 TDs and Tahj Washington has 448 receiving yards and 5 scores. Javon Ivory, Damonte Coxie and Watkins each have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. The Navy Midshipmen come into this one more than well rested after having their last three games postponed due to COVID issues, leaving Navy at 3-4 on the year. Dalen Morris has thrown for 555 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 picks on 53.4% passing while Nelson Smith leads the Middies in rushing with 447 rushing yards and 7 TDs. Memphis is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games while the over is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record. Navy is 12-4 ATS in their last 16 conference games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win. Memphis is 1-3-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

This is a lot of points to be giving up with a Memphis team that’s had issues covering spreads all season against a Navy team that likes to chew clock like I chew gum. With that said, a high-powered offense like the one Memphis has isn’t the kind of test I’d like to have in my first game back in almost a month as Navy was having issues to begin with and now have to fight this uphill battle. I think this is a get right spot for Memphis and a game the Tigers can win by two touchdowns, so I’ll lay the points with Memphis in this spot.
