The Appalachian State Mountaineers host the Troy Trojans when they face off in Sun Belt conference college football action from Kidd-Brewer Stadium on Saturday night.

Defensively, Carlton Martial leads Troy with 66 total tackles including 38 solo tackles and Will Choloh and Richard Jibunor each have a team-high 3 sacks this season.
The Appalachian State Mountaineers will try to rebound from a 34-23 loss to Coastal Carolina, falling to 6-2 on the year with their first conference loss, leaving their Sun Belt record at 4-1 this season. Troy is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Appalachian State is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
I get why points at home with Troy are tempting as Appalachian State has been horrendous against the spread this season. However, Troy just lost to a terrible Middle Tennessee team and now have to play an App State team that’s ticked off after blowing their chance to catch Coastal Carolina and watched their hopes of playing in the Sun Belt championship game go up in smoke. This is simply a case of wrong place, wrong time for Troy as Appalachian State will come out fired up here. I’ll lay the points with the Mountaineers in this one.
