The Michigan Wolverines meet the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Saturday in Week 4 Big Ten college football action from Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. Kick-off is at 3:30p Eastern. Rutgers is coming off a game versus Delaware. In that matchup, the Knights posted a blowout win. As for the Wolverines, they played Northern Illinois in their last matchup. Michigan didn’t have any trouble there with a 53-point victory. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

Rutgers didn’t have any issues with Temple in their opening game this year. The Scarlet Knights scored in every quarter on the way to a nice 61-14 blowout victory. In game two versus Syracuse, Rutgers didn’t score until the second half but still secured a 17-7 win.

This past weekend versus Delaware, Rutgers scored 28 points in the second quarter on the way to a 45-13 blowout win. QB Noah Vedral put up 323 yards with two scores on 21-of-25 passing, and Isaih Pacheco had 13 carries for 69 yards and two scores.

Over on the Michigan side, they jumped ahead of Western Michigan 27-7 in the first half of their opener game, cruising to a 47-14 win. The Wolverines kept it going in week two versus Washington, scoring 14 fourth-quarter points in an eventual 31-10 victory.

In game three versus Northern Illinois, Michigan jumped out to a 35-3 halftime lead and cruised from there in a 63-10 win. QB Cade McNamara had 191 yards and a score off 8-of-11 passing and Blake Corum rushed for 125 yards and three scores off 13 carries.

The Knights are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Rutgers is also 4-1 ATS in their last five on turf.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines are 4-0 ATS in their last four in September and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. Michigan is also 2-5 ATS in their last seven on turf.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Rutgers here. The Knights have had a couple of really nice offensive outings so far this year, and they’re coming off another one with 493 total yards. Rutgers posted 334 yards through the air versus Delaware and notched 7.4 yards per play on average.

As for Michigan, their 606 total yards and 9.3 yards per play against NIU showcases what this team can do—especially in a mismatch. Still, if Rutgers can find some early passing success and hang a couple of scores to get the rhythm going I think the Knights can get in there for a cover.
