The Oregon Ducks meet the Arizona Wildcats and the Saturday in week 4 college football action from Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Arizona is coming off a matchup against Northern Arizona this past weekend. In that one the Wildcats lost by two points in a rough game. As for Oregon, they played Stony Brook in their last game. The Ducks had no issues there in a blowout victory. Check back all season long for free college football picks at Sports Chat Place.

Arizona kicked off their season against BYU. The Wildcats outscored the Cougars 13-10 in the second half but couldn’t bridge the gap in a 24-16 loss. Game two against San Diego State didn’t go any better. Arizona gave up 35 first-half points in a 38-14 defeat.

In game three versus Northern Arizona, the Wildcats continued their slide with a 21-19 loss despite holding a 13-7 halftime edge. QB Will Plummer put up 191 yards, one TD and a pick on 19-of-34 passing, and Drake Anderson had 72 yards from 12 carries.

Over on the Oregon side, they opened up their year with a scare against Fresno State. The Ducks were outscored in the second half 11-10 but held it together in a 31-24 win. The Ducks followed that one up with a big victory over Ohio State 35-28 to keep it going.

Oregon played Stony Brook in their third game. In that one the Ducks had a 17-7 halftime lead on the way to a 48-7 blowout win. QB Anthony Brown went 14-of-18 with 159 yards and a score. Travis Dye led the rushers with 15 carries for 87 yards and a TD.

The Wildcats are 2-6 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 6-21 ATS in their last 27 road games. Arizona is also 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall.

Meanwhile, the Ducks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS loss and 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 in September. Oregon is 5-11 ATS versus a team with a losing record as well.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Oregon, but probably avoiding this one. There wasn’t much doubt that the Ducks would roll against Stony Brook, and they did with 436 total yards and 26 first downs. Oregon had a pretty well-rounded offensive attack, but went a tepid 3-of-10 on third downs.

As for Arizona, their last game was a mess with three turnovers and a 3-of-15 mark on third and fourth downs. The Wildcats did a good job on pass defense (92 yards) but allowed Northern AZ just enough for a win. I don’t see much changing against a tougher opponent in Oregon.
