The Iowa Hawkeyes and Purdue Boilermakers meet in a week 7 Big Ten college football showdown from Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

The Purdue Boilermakers will look to bounce back from a disappointing 20-13 loss to Minnesota in their last game. Jack Plummer’s thrown for 840 yards and 7 touchdowns on 69.5% passing while Aidan O’Connell’s thrown for 743 yards, 4 touchdowns and 5 picks on 66% passing. King Doerue has a team-high 221 rushing yards while David Bell has a team-high 27 catches for 439 yards and 3 scores. Milton Wright and Payne Durham each have 200+ receiving yards and a combined 5 touchdowns this season. On defense, Marvin Grant has a team-high 28 total tackles including 22 solo tackles while George Karlaftis and DaMarcus Mitchell each have 1.5 sacks this season.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will look to build on their 23-20 win over Penn State last time out. Spencer Petras has thrown for 1,138 yards, 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 60.7% passing while Tyler Goodson leads the Hawkeyes in rushing with 518 rushing yards and Sam LaPorta and Nico Ragaini each have 200+ receiving yards this season. On defense, Jack Campbell leads Iowa with 55 total tackles while Lukas Van Ness has a team-high 4 sacks and Joe Evans has 3 sacks this season.

Purdue is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 conference games. Iowa is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the under is 8-2-1 in their last 11 games as a home favorite.

I said before that I didn’t want anything to do with Minnesota after a loss to Bowling Green and now Purdue lost to Minnesota and I can’t stand the Boilers. However, this just feels like the line is close to being right on as I’m concerned that Iowa left so much on the field in that win over Penn State last time out. Purdue hasn’t been great but I think this could end up being a 28-17 win for Iowa here. I’ll lean towards Purdue and the points here.
