The Washington State Cougars and BYU Cougars meet in a week 8 college football contest from Martin Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The BYU Cougars come into this one looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 38-24 defeat at the hands of Baylor last time out. Jaren Hall has thrown for 1,205 yards, 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 62.1% passing while Tyler Allgeier leads the BYU ground attack with 675 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns this season. Gunner Romney leads BYU with 452 receiving yards along with 3 touchdowns while Puka Nacua has 444 receiving yards and Neil Pau’u has 359 receiving yards this season. On defense, Ben Bywater leads the Cougars with 58 total tackles while Uriah Leiataua has a team-high 2.5 sacks this year.

The Washington State Cougars will be out to add to their three-game winning streak after a 34-31 win over Stanford last time out. Jayden de Laura has thrown for 1,482 yards, 15 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while Max Borghi has a team-high 421 rushing yards and 5 TDs on the ground. Deon McIntosh also has 291 rushing yards while Calvin Jackson has a team-high 476 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns and Travell Harris has a team-high 44 grabs for 465 yards and a team-high 5 touchdowns. De’Zhaun Stribling has 24 catches for 281 yards while another three Washington State receivers have at least 100 receiving yards on the year. On defense, Jahad Woods leads Wazzu with 45 total tackles while Ron Stone Jr. has a team-high 4 sacks and Brennan Jackson has 3.5 sacks on the year.

BYU is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a favorite while the under is 13-3 in their last 16 games against the Pac-12. Washington State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as an underdog.

This is a bit of an interesting spot as you have Washington State playing really well right now while BYU is coming off of back-to-back losses, but I think BYU still being favored on the road tells us all we need to know. The Pac-12 isn’t overly strong this year and while the wins are nice for Washington State, BYU’s played some of the same teams but recent losses to Boise State and Baylor are a lot harder than what Wazzu’s dealt with this season. I think that BYU gets back on track here with a win so I’ll lay the points.
