The Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Tech Red Raiders meet in week 9 Big 12 college football action from Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will try to bounce back from a 25-24 loss to TCU in their last game. Henry Colombi leads the Red Raiders with 1,214 passing yards, 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 64.7% passing while SaRodorick Thompson and Tahj Brooks each have 300+ rushing yards this season and Xavier White’s on 238 rushing yards this year as well. Erik Ezukanma leads the Red Raiders in receiving with 32 grabs for 508 yards while Kaylon Geiger has 30 catches for 433 yards and Myles Price has 241 receiving yards as well this season. Another five Red Raiders have at least 100 receiving yards as well on the year. On defense, Colin Schooler leads Texas Tech with 62 total tackles while Tyree Wilson has a team-high 4 sacks and Jaylon Hutchings has 3 sacks as well this year.

The Oklahoma Sooners will look to get some confidence going after their narrow 35-23 win over Kansas last time out. Caleb Williams has thrown for 787 yards, 8 touchdowns and an interception on 69.6% passing while Kennedy Brooks leads the Sooners in rushing with 767 rushing yards and 9 TDs. Eric Gray also has 298 rushing yards and Williams has called his own number 26 times for 285 yards and 4 scores. Marvin Mims leads Oklahoma’s receivers with 470 receiving yards while three more Sooners have at least 200 receiving yards and another four have at least 100 yards this season. On defense, Pat Fields leads OU with 48 total tackles while Brian Asamoah is right behind with 47 total tackles. Nik Bonitto leads the Sooners with 5 sacks and Isaiah Thomas is right behind him with 4.5 sacks on the year.

Texas Tech is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss. Oklahoma is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 conference games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a win while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games overall.

I get why Oklahoma is favored here, and the wrinkle of Texas Tech firing their head coach makes things just a bit interesting coming into this game. With that said, I don’t know what Texas Tech was expecting if you fire a coach that’s 5-3 already this season when you haven’t had a winning season since 2016, but that’s neither here nor there. Bottom line is Oklahoma has been far from dominant this season and far from a team I want to lay this kind of number with against a decent team like Texas Tech. Give me the Red Raiders and the points.
