The Ohio Bobcats and Miami RedHawks clash Tuesday night in week 10 MAC college football action from Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio. Miami’s last appearance was a matchup versus Ball State. The RedHawks ended up winning that one by a touchdown. As for Ohio, they last played Kent State, losing by seven points. Miami lost three of their first four games, beating LIU while otherwise falling to Cincinnati, Minnesota and Army. The RedHawks won three of their next four however, falling to Eastern Michigan and beating Central Michigan, Akron and Ball State.

In the 24-17 win over Ball State on October 23, the RedHawks posted eight unanswered points in the fourth quarter during the comeback. QB Brett Gabbert put up 207 yards with two TDs, and Tyre Shelton led the rush with 46 yards on 14 carries.

Over on the Bobcats’ side, they lost four in a row to start the year, falling to Syracuse, Duquesne, Louisiana and Northwestern. Ohio then beat Akron before losing to Central Michigan, Buffalo and Kent State in succession.

In the Kent State loss 34-27, Ohio scored 20 second-half points but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. QB Kurtis Rourke put up 308 yards and a pick on 31-of-38 passing, and Isiah Cox caught seven balls for 73 yards.

The RedHawks are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 in November and 18-7 in their last 25 conference games. Miami-OH is also 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games and 2-6 ATS in the last eight after a bye week. Ohio is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 home games as well.

PICK: I’m going to try Ohio here. The Bobcats’ 0-3 record over their last trio looks ugly, but the team has been completive. Ohio hasn’t lost by more than a touchdown in any of those, and they’ve also hit at least 26 points in each. I can see the Bobcats staying within striking distance here.

As for Miami, they did a pretty good job at containing Ball State in their last outing, but also gave up 5.0 yards per play, 20 first downs and a 7-of-14 mark on third- and fourth-down tries. I like this game to be competitive most of the way, with Ohio getting into a cover. Should be a fun one.
